Understanding HIMP20 - HIMP20 (the HiSoftware metaPackager 2.0 Standard) is a XML Document Encoding standard that encapsulates documents or groups of documents into an XML record. This standard allows for the packaging of any document type into a rich metadata XML wrapper. For Processing and web server capabilities the extension for an HIMP20 standard file is XMLP. The HIMP20 Standard produces 100% Pure XML for Open integration to any/all existing XML Servers.

Processing Instructions - The HIMP20 Standard utilizes processing Instructions to identify and work with  compression and protection. the mpcompression PID  along with the protected value of Yes or No provides document level compression and protection (password) instructions.

Collections - HIMP20 introduces the clear use of collections within a package and provides the ability to add multiple files that are similar in a project sense but identifiable and workable on an individual file basis.

Onions - The Concept of an "Onion" package is a layered package that can literally store packages within packages in an unlimited format that is the preferred method for archiving and document management.

Base64 Encoding - The Encapsulated Files are first Compressed if Required and then Encoded into BASE64. As required the metaPackager™ Processing Software will Encode/Decode & compress/Decompress as required. These steps and processes require no user intervention (Short of a password if a document is password protected).
