Overview:
A captioned video presentation which
teaches you how to create synchronized
captioning for multimedia files.
Duration: Approximately 10 minutes 41
seconds Suggested Audience: All multimedia
developers, webmasters and those policy
coordinators interested in Section 508
compliance for multimedia files.
Download the demonstration in zip format.
After extracting the zip file using a tool
such as WinZip or
StuffIt,
there will be three files. The first is
the avi file which is the video file. The
second is captioning file with the .smi
extension. The third is a readme.
Double-click on the AVI file to view the
video. Captioning of this presentation is
available when using Microsoft Windows
Media Player.

demos were created using Hi-Caption™ 1.0,
Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2002 and
Microsoft Producer to deliver, rich
accessible training and presentations. All
Information that you require to view the
presentations is listed below. We welcome
feedback on all of our training and
demonstration products.
In order to view these demos, you will
need Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater (6.0
strongly recommended) and Windows Media
Player 7.1 or greater. You can download
a
free copy of Internet Explorer 6 and a
free copy of Media Player 7.1 by
following these links in this sentence. These demos are captioned using
Synchronized Accessible Media Interchange
(SAMI). If you have having problems
viewing the captioning, please make sure
you have the latest version of Internet
Explorer and Media Player. You may also
download the free
Version 8.0 CODECs for Media Player
and the
Microsoft Animation Plug-In. Captioning will appear in the lower left
corner of the presentation if you have
satisfied the requirements above.
