HiSoftware co-sponsors the VI (sixth) SIDAR Conference focusing on "Accessibility and User Experience"

Concord, NH —October 4, 2002-HiSoftware, Inc. today announced its co-sponsorship of the upcoming VI SIDAR conference that will take place later this month. The conference, which serves as a meeting place for professionals and people interested in Accessibility in the Information Society, brings together the experts and leaders of the sector presenting/exhibiting the most up to date knowledge and technologies to eliminate barriers and increase the number of users/clients of a "Website". The conference will focus on Web accessibility with general and specialized subjects such as, tools, languages, directives, legislation and standards, techniques, design, contents, interactivity, usability, and e-procurement solutions.

Through its sponsorship, HiSoftware Company will be providing conference attendees with Spanish language versions of its multimedia captioning software, Hi-Caption. Hi-Caption allows for fast efficient creation, editing, and testing of the captioning of Multimedia. The captioning file is stored in a SAMI and/or a SMIL file. SAMI is an acronym for Synchronized Accessible Media Interchange and SMIL is an acronym for Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language. The files are very similar to HTML, but are a different language. Hi-Caption supports creating captioning files for programs such as Windows® Media Player®, RealNetworks® RealOne® and Apple® QuickTime®. Just as you would rather use a web editor to create web files, this program allows you to easily create the formatted captioning file, without having to learn the code behind it. The Spanish language version of Hi-Caption allows Web developers in Spanish speaking countries to work with the leading captioning software on the marker today, within their native language. The software also supports captioning multimedia files in multiple languages so that they audience may select and view captioning in the language of their choice.
