System Extends Licensing Agreement for
HiSoftware Web Management Solutions

29, 2005 – HiSoftware Company
announced today that the Department of
Veterans Affairs Employee Education
System (EES) has extended its
licensing agreement for HiSoftware
Company content quality and
accessibility solutions. This extends
a licensing agreement that the VA-EES
originally entered into in February of
2003 through the end of the 2006
fiscal year. Through this agreement,
both HiSoftware Company’s desktop and
back-end server side software
solutions will be utilized for
evaluation, remediation and ongoing
monitoring of EES intranet web sites
and Web applications for conformance
to both statutory and organizational
accessibility and content quality
standards.
Under the terms of
the agreement, HiSoftware Company will
provide its AccVerify DS2 2005,
AccRepair DS2 2005 and AccMonitor
Compliance Server 2005 software to EES
for use by its webmasters, application
developers, and compliance experts. In
addition to “out-of-the-box” testing
and reporting for Accessibility,
Privacy, Metadata, Site Structure and
Usability standards, HiSoftware
solutions allow an organization’s
experts and/or policy managers to
define content policies and then
provides a solution to validate
compliance with these policies.
HiSoftware’s end-to-end software
solutions enable customers to
proactively manage online privacy.
HiSoftware solutions allow users to
monitor Web sites for data collection,
security and sharing practices, opt-in
and opt-out choices, broken links,
missing privacy policies, third party
linking, P3P and the use of tracking
technologies. The final result is a
complete and concise report on the
total accessibility, quality and
policy compliance status of content
that has been tested.
VA-EES Web
application developers will utilize
HiSoftware’s back-end automated
AccMonitor Compliance Server 2005 for
scheduled and on demand testing as
well as HiSoftware’s user-driven
interactive desktop solutions,
AccVerify DS2 2005 and AccRepair DS2
2005 to test and remediate their
projects for compliance with Section
508 accessibility standards, Section
208 privacy standards, and other
content quality standards.
HiSoftware’s accessibility testing
solutions test for over 187
comprehensive accessibility checks and
for the level of compliance
recommended by the U.S Government's
Section 508 legislation. These
solutions also include HiSoftware Link
Validation Utility, which assists with
quality and accessibility assurance by
scanning and analyzing web content for
broken links, producing detailed
reports to help developers and quality
assurance professionals pinpoint and
fix content, interaction, and
usability defects. Through this
agreement, the VA-EES team also
licenses HiSoftware Hi-Caption
solutions for multimedia captioning.
The Department of Veterans
Affairs-Employee Education System
joins a growing list of Federal
