Quality
Concord, NH –
January 12, 2005 – HiSoftware, Inc.
today announced the new integration
between AccMonitor Compliance Server
2005 and Microsoft SharePoint Portal
Server “v2.0”. AccMonitor Compliance
Server 2005 is the newest member of
HiSoftware’s high-performance
Accessibility and Content Quality
Solutions, and provides users with
increased performance, advanced and
automated web application testing, and
new client free test functionality for
Web based content and applications.
The solution provides users with a
complete, scalable enterprise-wide
test management and remediation
solution for Content defects,
Usability testing, Search engine
effectiveness, Site inventory, Web
accessibility (Section 508, W3C's
WCAG), Site maintenance and management
of corporate standards. In addition to
integrated testing, HiSoftware has
also worked with Microsoft to provide
new templates that enable SharePoint
users to extend and enhance their
accessibility efforts.
AccMonitor Compliance Server empowers
quality assurance teams and content
developers to create and manage Web
Content quality factors. It also
allows users to define and conduct
custom tests. The final result is a
complete and concise report on the
total accessibility, quality and
policy compliance status of content
that has been tested. The software
allows users to work collaboratively
on reporting and repair and provides
unsurpassed team services, workflow
capabilities and a flexible, scalable
enterprise monitoring system.
Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server
“v2.0” enables enterprises to develop
an intelligent portal that seamlessly
connects users, teams and knowledge so
people can leverage relevant
information across business processes
to help them work more efficiently.
SharePoint Portal Server “v2.0”
provides an enterprise business
solution that integrates information
from various systems into one solution
through single sign-on and enterprise
application integration capabilities,
and provides flexible deployment
options and management tools. It
facilitates end-to-end collaboration
by enabling aggregation, organization
and searching for people, teams and
information. SharePoint Portal Server
“v2.0” also enables users to quickly
find relevant information through
customization and personalization of
content and layout in the portal as
well as and audience targeting.
The AccMonitor Compliance Server
integration for Microsoft SharePoint
Portal Server “v2.0” allows for
integrated access for verification of
accessibility and content quality for
SharePoint Portal Server “v2.0” Sites.
These solutions include an integrated
workflow notification process,
enhanced verification for secure
content, and the ability to create
custom tests for organization specific
content quality standards, all with no
programming, customization, or
development efforts required. These
“out-of-the-box” integrations enable
users to roll out these integrations
with absolutely no additional
development resources required, so
that content quality and accessibility
verification is seamlessly integrated
into the development, deployment and
delivery of the SharePoint-driven
Sites.
“SharePoint
Products and Technologies were
designed to be able to provide
portal and collaboration services to
the next generation of business
applications," said Mike Gelon,
Director of Business Tools Division
Product Management for Microsoft
Corp. "We're delighted to see
development efforts from HiSoftware
Company make that investment pay
off.”
HiSoftware has
joined efforts with Microsoft to
deliver new templates for SharePoint
developers that can be used to create
sites with integrated accessibility
“out-of-the-box.” Through these
collaborative efforts, between
Microsoft and HiSoftware, these
templates are available at no charge
and may be downloaded from the
HiSoftware Web site at:
http://www.hisoftware.com/spwhitepaper/sptmpreq.htm

information about this integration is

“Microsoft has
long recognized a responsibility to
develop technology that is
accessible and easily used by all
people, including those with
disabilities,” said Curt Kolcun,
general manager for Microsoft
Federal. “HiSoftware shares our
vision of making technology broadly
accessible to everyone and this new
initiative will assist our customers
in maintaining the highest level of
Accessibility for their SharePoint
sites, and supports their efforts to
comply with Federal regulations.”
“HiSoftware is committed to
providing solutions that will assist
developers dealing with emerging
accessibility standards and
guidelines through the use of
evolving technologies. In doing so,
we have also tried to create a blue
print for “best practices” in
accessible Web site design, said
Robert Yonaitis, CEO and President
of HiSoftware, Inc. “We are very
pleased to be working with Microsoft
Corporation to further these
initiatives.”
AccMonitor
Compliance Server 2005 includes the
HiSoftware Integration Pack for
Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, providing
a facility for professional level
content quality and accessibility
testing with out client software.
Through the use of the new integration
pack, administrators can enable an
ASP.Net web-based service that links
to their AccMonitor Server software.
Along with Client Access Licenses,
this allows for client or plug-in
independent testing, enabling
organizations to do more enterprise
planning and provide increased
flexibility. All administration and
configuration of the application is
managed on the server side. The look,
feel and functionality of the test is
completely configured by the
administrator of the application.
Users can be presented with a custom
interface that simply requires them to
enter a URL and press a button, or
they can be presented with options and
selections for a more robust and
complex testing. This solution
provides users with the ability to
completely integrate Web policy
management, content quality and
accessibility testing into their daily
workflow, without the requirement of
deploying desktop solutions.
The AccMonitor Integration Pack for
Visual Studio.NET is a unique and
cost-effective solution that enables
enterprises to manage Web site
resources more effectively and better
understand the impact of those
resources on Web site quality.
The AccMonitor Compliance Server 2005
product line solutions manage and
maintain Web site and Web application
content quality from initial
development through application
deployment. These solutions enable
collaboration amongst the various
development and QA groups responsible
for building applications and managing
accessibility and content quality
across the enterprise. Collaboration
arises from the ability to access
Web-based results reports anywhere,
any time; a central data repository
that houses all test assets, and a
workflow process to facilitate
information flow between multiple
users of the applications. Users can
also create custom tests to supplement
regulatory compliance testing with
brand management and corporate
standards based testing. With enhanced
collaboration, errors are found early
in the quality cycle -- when they are
least expensive to correct -- and
quickly resolved. Users can create,
share and reuse previously created
test assets throughout their
organization, providing management
access to quality status reports,
driving fast return on investment and,
ultimately, attaining higher levels of
Web content quality and accessibility.
