HiSoftware Inc.
Joins Mercury Interactive’s Open
Architecture Program
Planned
Integration of HiSoftware’s AccVerify
with Mercury Interactive’s
TestDirector Will Track Web Sites for
Section 508 or W3C® Accessibility
Compliance
Concord, NH. –
November 26, 2001 – HiSoftware Inc., a
leader in Web site accessibility
solutions, today announced it has
joined Mercury Interactive
Corporation’s Open Architecture
Program (OAP) and will integrate
AccVerify, a solution which verifies
that Web sites are in compliance with
accessibility standards for Web-based
information, with Mercury
Interactive's Test Director®, a global
test management solution for
organizing and managing the testing
process.
The integration will enable project
teams to verify Web site accessibility
in compliance with Section 508 and
W3C® “Priority 1” accessibility
guidelines from the initial design
stage through final testing. As a
result, project managers will be able
to assign resources easily for Section
508 remediation work, ensuring that
Web sites remain in compliance. The
integration will provide a simple,
cost-effective way to ensure that Web
sites meet U.S. federal standards for
accessibility.
HiSoftware accessibility solutions are
the only solutions that give project
managers the ability to track the
accessibility status of a Web project
and supervise the workflow of project
workers. The History feature also
allows project managers to create
custom filtered reports by
characteristics of the project, so
that reports contain only the
information the user wants to see.
“The integrated solution will bring
automation of accessibility to the
Webmaster who uses TestDirector for
tracking the accessibility
requirements of multiple Web servers,
and makes managing accessibility more
efficient,” said
Robert B.
Yonaitis, CEO and President of
HiSoftware.
“Organizations like HiSoftware can
take advantage of Mercury
Interactive’s Open Architecture
Program to deliver an optimized
solution to its customers,” said Jim
Hare, Director of Strategic Alliances
at Mercury Interactive. “The
combination of HiSoftware’s Web site
accessibility solution and Mercury
Interactive’s global test management
solution will enable HiSoftware to
integrate test planning, test
scheduling, test execution, and defect
tracking into a single solution.”
AccVerify's Accessibility Recorder and
History database work with
TestDirector to allow users to
identify the accessibility status of a
Web project on demand for a specific
point in time, or to track the
progress of the project over time. The
user can identify “phases” of the
project by author, time, date,
department, and more.
TestDirector and Open Architecture
Program
TestDirector is an integrated
management tool for organizing and
managing the testing process. By
combining planning, execution, defect
tracking with an open architecture and
a central repository, TestDirector
consolidates and manages the testing
process to determine application
readiness.
The Open Architecture Program is a
dynamic ecosystem of the leading
application development, testing and
performance management tool vendors.
Through the OAP, Mercury Interactive
is partnering with leading vendors
whose products and services can help
our customers build and maintain
better applications. At the enterprise
level, successful application testing
and deployment require a combination
of tools from many different vendors.
Mercury Interactive's Open Test
Architecture provides the flexibility
to seamlessly integrate Mercury
Interactive's testing tools with any
other tool. By allowing IT
organizations to create their own test
solutions, Open Test Architecture not
only preserves their investment in
existing tools, but also improves test
process effectiveness throughout the
application development lifecycle.
Open Test Architecture Alliance
members are leading tools vendors who
are seamlessly integrating their tools
with TestDirector, LoadRunner® for
load testing, and WinRunner® for
functional testing to provide IT
organizations with a complete
enterprise solution.
