HiSoftware’s
Enterprise Metadata Solutions Provide
Enhanced Search for RDF/XML
New release enhances
corporate Search facilities and document
policy management.
Concord, NH December
10, 2003 – HiSoftware, Inc., the leader
in enterprise content quality management
solutions, announced today an
enhancement for its Enterprise Metadata
solution, Metadata Server, that allows
for advanced catalog, search and
retrieval of RDF/XML. The new
functionality provides users with the
ability to catalog search and retrieve
resources that would not previously have
been accessible. Metadata Server enables
organizations to categorize and index
digital content, resulting in
better/faster search and retrieval of
information via a corporate Intranet or
the Internet. Metadata, which adds the
same type of intelligent tagging to
documents that card catalogs supply
about books, is the key to organizing
and leveraging corporate knowledge.
These solutions allow users to create a
portal-style index of documents that can
be created, searched and modified on the
fly.
Metadata Server,
which includes Hi-Search, the first
"Fielded only" search services available
on the market, can now catalog files
that contain the Dublin Core Metadata
Element Set encoded in simple RDF/XML.
This feature allows users to catalog,
search and retrieve resources, described
using the Dublin Core Metadata Element
Set that would not normally be searched.
This new functionality enables advanced
search of resources described in
XML-that have no native ability for
Metadata to be embedded within them,
including pictures, maps PDF documents
and images. HiSoftware’s developer tool
TagGen Office, allows for the creation
of these XML records. Metadata Server
provides an affordable and scalable
solution for management of search and
policy verification initiatives across
enterprise organizations.
HiSoftware’s
enterprise metadata solutions assist
organizations in achieving and
maintaining Web sites in compliance with
organizational standards for
searchability and custom metadata
policies. These solutions, available as
client and automated server-based
applications, help organizations develop
long-term strategies to achieve Web
content searchability and quality. They
allow multiple users to work
collaboratively on Web site content
policy implementation and
testing-resulting in reductions in time
and resources.
