HiSoftware, Inc. and Human Factors International, Inc. team to provide unparalleled accessibility and usability services

CONCORD, NH – August 16, 2002 – HiSoftware, Inc. and Human Factors International, Inc. (HFI) announced a strategic alliance today that will extend their already comprehensive expertise in usability and accessibility. HiSoftware and HFI will work collaboratively with customers to provide expert services and software solutions for the development of usable and accessible applications and Web sites, which conform to US and International accessibility standards and guidelines.

HFI provides design, consulting, training and products to increase the effectiveness and usability of applications, Web sites, devices and hardware. HFI’s usability services are based on ergonomics, a scientific branch of the field of cognitive psychology that gives HFI technical staff critical insight into the usefulness and success of their clients’ sites and products. With an investment in usability, HFI clients reduce training time, customer support costs, and errors and increase customer satisfaction, loyalty and overall sales.

HFI’s relationship with HiSoftware is a result of the company’s continuing dedication to their government clients, who are working to comply with Section 508 deadlines.  “Our alliance with HiSoftware will extend HFI’s comprehensive usability capabilities to include an important class of users that can only be reached through sustained efforts to comply with all accessibility guidelines,” said Bryan Floyd, VP of Marketing for HFI.  HiSoftware, a leading developer of advanced search solutions and Web site accessibility software, provides services for government, corporate, educational, and consumer markets. HiSoftware’s solutions help organizations develop long-term strategies to achieve Web content accessibility, enhance usability, and comply with U.S. and international accessibility standards.

HiSoftware’s new alliance will strengthen their existing reputation as an accessibility expert by bringing to their clients the credentials of HFI as the world’s leading software usability firm.

“Government and other organizations are quickly realizing that providing efficient access to information is not only extremely beneficial to constituents, but also saves time and money. The collaborative partnership and combined strengths of HiSoftware and HFI will lead our customers into a new age of providing key customer services,” said Robert B. Yonaitis, CEO and President of HiSoftware, Inc.

Under their agreement, HFI and HiSoftware will work together to assist customers in their deployment and maintenance of accessible and usable solutions for both Internet and intranet markets. Due to the recently enacted Rehabilitation Act Amendments legislation, interactive accessible technology and Web accessibility for people with disabilities is on the minds of CIO’s at many corporations, organizations, and government agencies.
