U.S. Department of Transportation- Extends Licensing Agreement for HiSoftware Web Management Solutions

Concord, NH September 20, 2004 – HiSoftware Company announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) -has extended its licensing agreement with HiSoftware Company for enterprise-wide deployment of its AccMonitor Server Software. Through this agreement, HiSoftware Company’s back-end server side software solution AccMonitor will be utilized as part of a program for evaluation and ongoing monitoring of Web sites and Web based applications tested by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for conformance to Section 508 Accessibility Standards, and organizational content quality standards. This extends a licensing agreement that U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) originally entered into with HiSoftware in 2002 through the year 2006.

In addition to “out-of-the-box” testing and reporting for Accessibility, Privacy, Metadata and Usability standards, these solutions allow an organization’s experts and/or policy managers to define content policies and then provides a solution to validate compliance with these policies. The final result is a complete and concise report on the total accessibility, quality and policy compliance status of content that has been tested.

HiSoftware’s “Acc” product line includes a combination of user-driven interactive desktop solutions that allow developers to test their content for conformance with standards, and server-side applications that provide managers with automated and remote testing. A scalable architecture provides a faster deployment time and lower cost of ownership for the solution set. Used together these solutions enable developers, testers and project teams to verify Web site accessibility in compliance with Section 508, as well as Custom corporate-content quality standards. The solutions provide U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)with a simple, cost-effective way to manage accessibility and content quality testing within their development environments, while at the same time providing a centralized reporting system and audit trail for Web content compliance status.

More information about these applications is available from the HiSoftware Web site: http://www.hisoftware.com/access/index.html

U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) joins a growing list of customers turning to HiSoftware Company for accessibility solutions, including but not limited to: Microsoft Government, Mercury Interactive, Priceline.com, the Internal Revenue Service, US Air Force, and the Department of Defense. Additional customer information is available from HiSoftware’s Web site: http://www.hisoftware.com/access/scustomers.html

Section 508, an amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, requires electronic and information technology that is used, developed, and procured by the Federal government to be accessible to people with disabilities.
