HiSoftware and DLT Solutions Launch Online Store for GSA Customers

Government Agencies Gain Secure, Easy Procurement of Advanced Search and Knowledge Management Solutions

CONCORD, NH – April 17, 2001 - Hiawatha Island Software Company, Inc. (HiSoftware) and DLT Solutions, Inc. (Herndon, VA), today launched an eCommerce Web Site, the HiSoftware GSA Store, (http://www.hisoftware.com/gsains.htm) dedicated to providing GSA customers with secure, simplified procurement of HiSoftware’s advanced search and retrieval and accessibility solutions. ECommerce provider Digital River, Inc will host the online store.

“Paperwork reduction is a primary goal of the eGov initiative. The HiSoftware GSA online store should greatly simplify the GSA purchasing process and reduce order turnaround time,” said Craig Abod, President of DLT Solutions.

“Government institutions comprise a large percentage of our customers, including agencies such as the US Geological Survey (USGS), National Biologic Information Infrastructure (NBII), US Navy, the USDA and 30 of the 50 states. Our metadata solutions are helping agencies solve the problem of finding and retrieving valuable information. Through the online store, we hope to greatly expand access to our solutions and at the same time help these agencies streamline their procurement process, cut costs, and comply with the eGov initiative,” said Robert B. Yonaitis, President and CEO of HiSoftware.

The online store will allow agencies to purchase all of HiSoftware solutions, including AccVerify®, a software program that verifies Web site accessibility compliance with all policies and standards, as outlined in Section 508 (b) of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998. This legislation, which goes into effect June 21, 2001, mandates that federal agencies ensure that all electronic and information technology purchased, maintained or developed meets the accessibility standards established by the U.S. Access Board.
