AccVerify and AccRepair incorporate agent
technology in new releases to enable fast
verification of complete Web sites
CONCORD, NH August 7,
2001 – Hiawatha Island Software Company,
Inc. (“HiSoftware”), today introduced new
releases of AccVerify and AccRepair,
software solutions that help organizations
develop long-term strategies to achieve
Web content accessibility, enhance
usability, and comply with U.S. and
international accessibility standards.
AccVerify and
AccRepair are HiSoftware’s off-the-shelf
client software solutions that verify Web
site accessibility compliance with all
policies and standards, as outlined in
Section 508, Subpart B, of the
Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998.
AccRepair also allows Webmasters to make
Wizard-guided corrections easily for
accessibility violations.
AccVerify and
AccRepair now feature agent technology to
spider Web sites, as well as the links
attached to that site, up to 100 levels
deep. Non-compliant Web elements, such as
images and objects that do not have
alternative text, are clearly identified,
reported and easily corrected. Recurring
elements, like a corporate logo image, can
be corrected across an entire Web site
with only one change, instead of
individual changes for each occurrence.
AccVerify and
AccRepair are available as stand-alone
applications, and as integrated add-ons
for Microsoft® FrontPage®. HiSoftware also
provides AccVerify and AccRepair server
editions for automated server-based
verification and repair of Web content,
and AccMonitor, which is an automated
server solution that tracks live Web sites
for compliance with accessibility
standards without file or server access.
All HiSoftware repair solutions allow
multiple users to work collaboratively on
Web site repair. This provides dramatic
reductions in time and resources allocated
to Section 508 compliance.
