HiSoftware, Inc. Releases Version 3.0 of its Web Site Accessibility Solutions, AccVerify and AccRepair
New File Management Support and Project-Oriented Interface Put Organizations on the Fast Track to Section 508 Web Site Accessibility Compliance and Maintenance

CONCORD, NH – December 04, 2001 – HiSoftware, Inc., today released Version 3.0 of its Web site accessibility solutions, AccVerify® and AccRepair®.  Both products include a new file management system as well as a new project oriented interface-while maintaining, as a user selected option, the “classic” wizard-based interface of earlier software releases. These new features, in combination with new scripting and scheduling support-as well as support for FTP verification and repair of files enhance scalability of solutions for enterprise project management of Web site accessibility compliance and maintenance with U.S. Section 508 and W3C® accessibility standards.

AccVerify 3.0 verifies that Web content is in compliance with current accessibility standards. AccRepair 3.0 locates non-compliant Web elements and makes Wizard-guided repairs. AccVerify and AccRepair are available standalone applications, and as integrated add-ons to Microsoft® FrontPage®.   AccVerify and Repair are also available as automated Web server software.

New 3.0 Features

File Management
New File management features provide additional integration into users IT environments.

·        New FTP Verification is integrated with versions 3.0 with an FTP Explorer built into AccVerify. Users can now select Files from FTP (similar to the Windows “Select File” Dialog.) Additionally, the software provides FTP AutoScan (allowing for automatic scan of Web Files on FTP Servers for Verify)

·        Verification of File Lists with Mixed Protocols (HTTP, FTP, FILE)

·        Ability to Create "Projects" and Group files based on Web Site or Section of Web Site or Intranet for improved Accessibility Project Management.

·        Enhanced Support for Dynamic Web Sites

Repair / Remediation
The Repair and Remediation features have also been upgraded in 3.0.

·        AccVerify now provides simple repair functionality for single file management and simple Repair Functionality. This is not the Wizard-Based, batch verification of AccRepair, but a text Editor.

·        Single File Scan during run of AccRepair

·        Repair can now be completed via a Remote FTP Server with the AccRepair Wizard just as if the file was on the users local drive

·        Enhanced Support for Dynamic Web Sites

Interface
New Project Oriented Interface allows for enhanced and advanced control of users accessibility projects. However, individual users can select the new "Project Interface" or the "Classic" Interface. Users can choose to use one or the other or Toggle between interfaces. List of New Features:

·        Project Interface / Classic Interface

·        Source View - Allows Editing of HTML Source directly with full featured text-Editor

·        Accessible - 3.0 like all of its predecessors is Accessible

·        FTP View / Explorer

·        Script View / Execution

·        Project Settings Interface

Advanced Features
These following advanced features provide enhanced integration with user operating systems and increased ease in running accessibility projects.

·        Verification can now be scheduled via the Microsoft Windows Task Scheduler. Users can Schedule Scripts or Projects.

·        Accessibility Scripts Users can create accessibility scripts that can be run in the silent mode via scheduling. This allows projects to run in the background while the user s working on something else. Scripts can also be shared throughout an organization.

·          FTP Explorer and other FTP Features- AccVerify and Repair* can now be utilized seamlessly on files that exist on a remote or local FTP Server. *Repair Requires that the user have Write access to the Server.

·        Each Project can now have a unique Repair Database

Reporting
The following reporting features are now available.

·        Statistics Reporting – New Statistics Summary report provides complete Web site statistics including; Total Counts of Images, Forms, Tables, Frames, Inline Frames, Multimedia Objects, etc. A "Must See" for Accessibility Managers

·        Report Groups – Users can now run Report Groups. A Report Group allows the user to specify the Specific Location and index of a Report Set allowing for Isolation and quick access to previous report runs, thus saving a slice of History in HTML format of for the Web sites accessibility profile at the time of the report. For example, Report Group "December” will be created in the report directory under the December Directory.

·        Configurable File List Report – Users can now generate a list of files and their locations based on file-type/extension, (e.g. all PDF Files and All SWF (Flash) files.) This listing allows users to know exactly where other file types are linked to from HTML so that Web managers can validate those files for accessibility.
