HiSoftware, Inc. Releases Version 2.0 Web Site Accessibility Solutions
New Accessibility History Tracking and Ad Hoc Reporting Put Organizations on the Fast Track to Section 508 Web Site Accessibility Compliance and Maintenance

CONCORD, NH – September 05, 2001 – HiSoftware, Inc., today released Version 2.0 of its client- and server-based Web site accessibility solutions, AccVerify®, AccRepair®, and AccMonitor™.  HiSoftware’s Version 2.0 products offer new Web site accessibility history tracking and executive reporting that simplify compliance and maintenance with U.S. Section 508 and W3C® accessibility standards.

“Achieving Web site compliance is a daily challenge for most government agencies and businesses. Because files are continuously updated and added, accessible content often fluctuates dramatically. HiSoftware’s Version 2.0 compliance products feature the kind of flexible, ad hoc reporting and tracking capabilities that provide managers with quick analysis and easy-to-interpret reports for achieving accessibility,” said Robert B. Yonaitis, CEO and President of HiSoftware.

AccVerify 2.0 verifies that Web content is in compliance with current accessibility standards. AccRepair 2.0 locates non-compliant Web elements and makes Wizard-guided repairs. AccMonitor 2.0 is a server application that verifies Web site accessibility, without requiring file or server access. AccVerify and AccRepair are available standalone, or as integrated add-ons to Microsoft® FrontPage®. AccVerify and Repair are also available as automated Web server software.

New 2.0 Features

·         Accessibility Recorder

The Accessibility Recorder saves the history of Web site accessibility, allowing later ad hoc query and reporting. Reports can be generated at any time for any given date. This gives managers the ability to track and analyze accessibility over time, and determine where problems are occurring. The Accessibility Recorder stores data in an ODBC database, which can be integrated with Microsoft ® SQL or Oracle® databases, providing tremendous scalability across organizations. The Recorder database can be shared over a network for seamless workgroup collaboration.

·         Ad hoc reporting

New Ad Hoc Reporting capabilities now enable management to quickly diagnose and solve accessibility issues. Users can create finely detailed reports based on checkpoints, showing only the information they need. Report queries can be saved and re-used, or shared over a network. In addition, reports can be presented in attractive 2D or 3D graphs for easier analysis and presentations.

·         Filtered search for multimedia objects, scripts, applets and objects saves organizations time by enabling them to check only pages containing certain types of content. Reports can be run on current or historical data saved in the Accessibility Recorder.

·         Workgroups can collaborate on accessibility by sharing the Accessibility Recorder database over a network, eliminating duplication of effort among different groups or individuals.

·         Web-based administration

With AccMonitor 2.0 Webmasters can securely monitor site accessibility via the World Wide Web without direct server access. AccMonitor 2.0 also allows Web-based administration, offering new marketing opportunities to Application Service Providers who wish to offer accessibility monitoring as a service to customers. AccMonitor 2.0 also features the Accessibility Recorder and graphing features found in AccVerify and AccRepair.
