Cryptzone examines the role of context in identity and access management at it-sa Conference

October 5, 2014

Seminar will explain why identity and access management must take into account the context in which a user makes a claim, on a transaction-by-transaction basis, to prevent breaches

This has been a bumper year for large scale data breaches, with compromised records in the millions. In a seminar at this week's it-sa Conference, at the Nuremburg Exhibition Centre, Germany, security expert Christian Doppelhofer - Regional Director DACH at Cryptzone, a global provider of data security and identity and access management (IAM) solutions, will explain why organizations need to look at a user's context, not just their identity, to prevent breaches.

Seminar: Am I Who You Really Think I Am?

With the frequency and severity of data breaches resulting from stolen user credentials or rogue trusted users on the rise, Cryptzone believes you can't assume users are who they claim to be. Rarely, if ever, do we consider that the concept of identity is flawed - that it might be possible to stop a person accessing an account that they weren't supposed to in the first instance.

In this seminar, Christian will argue that, to stem the torrent of information security incidents, organizations must employ a Zero-Trust security model, which incorporates five layers of security- encrypted communication; user authentication; session authorization, policy enforcement, and global audit logging. When all of these security elements are combined it creates a strong backbone that truly protects enterprise resources.
