Content Management
Systems like SharePoint
are great collaboration
tools because they let
every stakeholder in an
organization post and
share their content.
However this wealth of
information from
multiple input points
can quickly spin out of
control and make and
make collaboration tools a
potential breeding
ground for
vulnerabilities. You
probably have more
hidden risk than you
realize and it’s growing
exponentially every day
as more of your staff
use SharePoint. In this
Webinar learn about the
risks your organization
might be exposed to and
how you can take back
control of your content.

Why WCAG 2.0 Matters to
You
Audience:
Accessibility
Owners
Duration: 30 minutes
Speaker: Ken Nakata
-
Ken is one of the most well-known and respected attorneys in the area of IT accessibility and works as the Director of Accessibility Consulting Practices (ACP) for HiSoftware.
While many US
organizations currently
use the Section 508
standards, there is a
growing harmonization to
the WCAG 2.0 guidelines.
Companies who do not
migrate to WCAG 2.0
accessibility standards
will face potential
liability
internationally and in a
growing number of
states. For
organizations that look
to the Section 508
standards, it is likely
that the pending
refreshed standards will
align to WCAG 2.0.
Please join HiSoftware
for a free Webinar on
Why WCAG 2.0 Matters to
You on Thursday, January
28th. Learn why WCAG 2.0
should be used by both
private and public
sector organizations as
the new standard for all
addressing accessibility
and the solutions
available to help you
achieve WCAG 2.0
compliance faster.
The recording will be
available soon.

Web Accessibility Best Practices for Online Retailers After National Federation of the Blind v. Target
Speaker: Ken Nakata
-
Ken Nakata is one of the most well-known and respected attorneys in the area of IT accessibility and works as the Director of Accessibility Consulting Practices (ACP) for HiSoftware.
Audience:
Corporate, eTail
Duration:
45 minutes
Think website accessibility doesn’t
affect you? Think again. Earlier this year, the
U.S. District Court for the Northern District of
California sent a clear signal that companies
had to ensure that their websites were
accessible to people with disabilities. In 2006,
the National Federation of the Blind sued the
Target Corporation for the alleged
inaccessibility of its website. This litigation
applied the Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA)—and state laws expanding the ADA—to a
retailer’s website and quickly became a focal
point for advocates and industries alike. The
court’s opinion presented a cogent analysis that
explained how private company websites were
squarely within the scope of disability rights
laws.
