Accessibility Standards and Technology
David Poehlman is an active participant in efforts
that concerning the accessibility of Electronics &
Information Technology ("E&IT") such as the "World
Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative
User Agent Guidelines Working Group" and "The Section
508 Accessibility Forum". Mr. Poehlman works on
projects both with government and industry and
provides training and technical assistance as well as
software and web page auditing and remediation
assistance. He also provides guidance in accessibility
to private industry as well through technology testing
and dialog.
His current activities
include:
Active participation in the Strategic Management
council and the E&IT Interoperability Subgroup of
the Section 508 Accessibility Forum, assisting
with development of the Guidelines for
manufactures of user agents such as web browsers,
media players and other rendering tools used to
deliver content to users of the world wide web;
which is nearing completion by the User Agent
Working Group of the Web Accessibility Initiative
of the W3C, Section 508 Strategic Seminar
Planning, providing consulting services to a
leader in web and software remediation and other
tasks.
Mr. Poehlman has been an active participant in the
technology access field since 1991, serves on
several advisory boards and uses the technology in
his daily work.
Mr. Poehlman is also the
founder of Hands-On Technolog(eye)s, Inc, a growing AT
corporation.
