In HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff 4.0 a text equivalent is provided for all non-text elements except in the following situations:

1.     On pages that use collapsible and expandable functionality represented by the + and – symbols, these symbols are reported as ‘links’ by assistive technology without informing the user of the current expanded or collapsed state or purpose of the link.

2.     On the Dashboard tab a close link for each view represented with an X is named using the scan ID number rather than the scan name which may make it difficult for a screen reader user to determine the specific views to close.

3.     In the product help the table of contents does not get announced properly by a screen reader when the user tabs to each item. If the user makes use of the virtual cursor to navigate these items they are announced without issue.

4.     In the product help there is a link to a glossary of terms. This links does not receive focus via the keyboard and can prevent the screen reader user and the keyboard only user from accessing the glossary.

5.     A few images in the help file do not contain alt text. This alt text is not necessary to understand the help topic.

These exceptions may affect users with vision and mobility difficulties or impairments, including those using assistive technology.

1.     When creating or editing a scan the ‘remove’ link used for removing a target page in a scan is not accessible via the keyboard. The ability to add a page to the scan is not hindered so scans can still be created. This may affect a keyboard user will be affected this issue.

2.     The ‘Case Sensitive’ checkbox in the Rule section of a Checkpoint edit form is out of logical tab order. Once a user knows about this problem they can work around the issue easily. This may affect a screen reader user and the keyboard only user.

This exception may affect users with vision and mobility difficulties or impairments, including those using assistive technology.

(o) A method shall be provided that permits users to skip repetitive navigation links.
